Christmas Baskets

Each year, the Brantford Food Bank provides Christmas baskets to families in need. The contents of these baskets provide all the fixings for a Christmas dinner. The Food Bank has reported a need for about 3,000 families in the area who will be registering for this year’s program.

Here is what we want to do as a school-wide project. Over the next 3 weeks, we will ask you to bring in a contribution for a Christmas dinner. Each week will focus on a new food item. There will be drop off boxes around the school in the following locations:

-front administration

-elementary school reception area

-deaf-blind office

-the staff dining room

For next week, we are asking everyone to bring in a can of fruit or vegetables.

In addition to the food contributions, we would like to do the “toonies for turkeys” again this year. With the toonies that we collect, we would like that money to be used to purchase turkeys for the Christmas food drive. Toonie bins will be located at: the front reception desk, campus corner, and the staff dinning room.

Let’s get in to the spirit of giving as well as practise the character trait of KINDNESS.
