Miranadah  Szenman - Elementary
Nominated by:  Ms. Weaver

Mirandah has had an awesome year and stepped up on so many levels, especially since this is only her 2nd year at WRMS. She is in a multi-level (grade) class and the oldest student. Hence, she has been very supportive with her younger peers, and supportive and patient when they needed more help. Mirandah has also demonstrated more responsibility for independent work, and perserverance. To Ms Weaver, with a challenging timetable (2 gyms, 2 swims) and remembering which students go where; she has even been a support e.g. by reminding her teacher on Thursdays that our little girls leave early for Snozelen Swim! Furthermore, we have discussed characteristic traits all year and Mirandah has put forth a personal effort for each one through the months, being more independent when travelling, being flexible when there are changes as new admissions and being an excellent team player demonstsrating co-operation, respect, and responsibility. Ms. Weaver is very proud of the personal growth and development Mirandah has displayed this school year.

George Quarcoo - Secondary
Nominated by: Jackie Goodall

While sitting with my grandson Colyn last week he was very excited telling me about his new friend. 'Grandma he’s my best friend in the world'. We go running, climbing, play pretend games and we hang out together all the time and we just do really fun stuff. Shortly after that a young man came to my table and asked if," Colyn was ready to go?" I asked who he was and Colyn replied Nana this is my best friend George. George explained he is Colyn's mentor. I have asked other staff about George and have heard some wonderful things about his academic and athletic achievements. I would like to Thank George for all the wonderful things he is doing for Colyn. George is a fine example of all the Character Traits we have been trying to instil in our students for the last few years and proof that the mentor program is working.
