Sharp Awards April 2013


Shayne J. – SIP
Nominated by: Ms. Allin

Shayne always offers to help out whenever he can.  He cleans up his messes and takes responsibility for his personal belongings. He demonstrates independence in daily activities as much as possible. He participates in all class activities no questions asked and maintains a positive attitude doing so. He knows his routines and does he best to use safe practices not just for himself but the other students in the classroom. He loves to share stories about sports, recently the Maple Leafs. He puts a smile on anyones face.  This school year, Shayne has been a great asset to our classroom.

Natalie H. - Elementary

Natalie has made great strides since arriving at WRMS in the fall. She has settled in well and is showing respect to others, as well as responibility about homework assignments and any new instructions about assemblies, field trips etc. She is conscientious about returning back to her cubbie for her homework file after O and M class; or even if she is busy with after school activities and sports. Natalie has been very supportive with the little girls in the classroom offering to assist them with travelling or getting them an extra juice or snack if they ask. She demonstrates a warm caring attitude to those about her, and has learned the importance of being honest. Natalie is also showing more self-discipline with settling into work activities after long holiday weekends, or exciting moments in school - as assemblies and field trips. She puts forth a good effort on her school work even if she is excited about after school acitivites or special visits from family in the evening.

Alissa V. - DeafBlind

Alissa is building a memory of her expanding world and of experiences she enjoys.  She continues to amaze us every day, demonstrating increased confidence in herself and understanding of her environment.  She has begun to guide staff to familiar areas and venture off on her own to explore her near environment.

Dean M. - Secondary
Nominated by: Mr. Rondeau

Dean has a very friendly personality and demonstrates a willingness to help any staff or student at any time. He is very good at problem solving and is extremely organized. Over the course of the year he has been provided audio production for many activities. He has also taught several students how to use audio equipment so that they were able to provide production as well. This is one example on how Dean shares his time and knowledge with other staff and students and shows excellent team work.
