Silver Cup 2013-2014

Yesterday's  Silver Cup Classic was a game that sports fans will be talking about for years. Despite being down 14-7 at  the half, the Jets came back to score 20 unanswered points to go on and defeat the Bills by a score of  27-14. It was the first Silver Cup Championship for the Jets Franchise.

Emma R. scored 2 touchdown to lead the Jets.” Touchdown Tony Brown” and Ryan C. each  scored a touchdown for the Jets. Tony Brown also added 3 converts.

Justin L.  was a scoring machine for the Bills scoring both of their touchdowns and adding two  converts.

Jet ’s coach Charles Alfano described winning the Cup ”as one of the greatest moments in his life. He  was quick to add that it was a total team effort by the Jets and he was proud of all of his players.”

Bills coach Mr. Russell was gracious in defeat telling me that his players did the best they could but that  in the end they came up a little short to a great team. Coach Russell said that his coaching staff would  take a couple of weeks off to reflect on the game, but that they planned on holding mini free agent  camps in Neill Residence to look at future talent.

Wilkes Hall Football Commissioner  Mr. Ferras would like to thank everyone involved for making this  year’s Cup the best ever. He asked me to thank all of the residence staff who helped to coach both the  football players and cheerleaders, for volunteering to officiate, the Nerd Herd along with Mr. Rondeau  for setting up the music, Mr. Zinger for his doing the play by play in tilt. annour am booth, all of the  staff and students who made the great banners supporting their favourite team, the kitchen staff for a  great post game BBQ,the grounds crew for setting up the field and the students  for taking part by either  playing, cheerleading or coming out and having a great time at the game. Finally thanks to all of the staff  who showed their support by coming out and cheering the players on. The kids really appreciate your  support.
