Hi, my name is Logan Peres. This term I have been at Cedarland Public School in a grade 3-4 class.
What do you do at your placement?
I’ve been working with Miss Money helping with math work in the classroom. Once a week I get to participate in their gym class and it is really fun. I forgot how active kids that age are. They are so full of energy. I had no idea that I could work with kids like that. The kids seem to learn something new each day which is cool to watch. I try to force them to think because I know that they know what they are doing so I encourage them to do their own work.
What have you learned about yourself?
I’ve learned that I can be a good role model if I try. I’ve learned that I enjoy helping younger people more than people my own age.
What is the biggest lesson that you have learned so far?
Trying to set the best example possible because the kids look up to you, so you have to be the best version of yourself because they are ALWAYS watching you.
Would you do this placement again?
In a heartbeat I would! The month that I have been at this placement I think I have had the most fun I have had in a long time.
Has this helped you decide on a possible future career?
Yes it has. I always knew that I liked working with and helping people. This has just made it that much more clear that this is something that I want to do.
