Brandon VanWyk was all
smiles when he was awarded the Canadian Cancer Society’s “Celebrating Youth
Award” from the Brant-Norfolk unit at this year’s Volunteer Recognition dinner
on October 25/12.
The Celebrating Youth
Award is to recognize young volunteers who have made a considerable
contribution to the Canadian Cancer Society.
They serve as a leader and role model to other young people within their
schools and communities through their volunteer work at the unit level.

Brandon is a survivor and
became an office volunteer in 2010, he has offered assistance to clients over
the phone and in person. His strong
office skills has enabled him to support all staff with a variety of computer
projects, receipting, events preparation and organizational needs.
Over the years, Brandon
has been helpful with orientating new volunteers to the office and has been
instrumental with encouraging his peers to consider volunteering for the
Canadian Cancer Society.
