The News from Mrs. Plant's Class

FROM THE SPORT’S DESK OF ASHLYN EDDY

This is an interview conducted by Ashlyn Eddy inquiring about Ms. Eddy’s curling experience at the Provincial Curling Championships in Kenora, Ontario.

Ashlyn: Who did you play?
Ms. Eddy: My Mom told me she played at the curling ladies provincial championships.

Ashlyn: How did you do?
Ms. Eddy: My Mom’s team didn’t do as well as they wanted to, but they had some close games.

Ashlyn: Who was your hardest team?
Ms. Eddy: My Mom said the toughest team was Rachel Homan from Ottawa.

Ashlyn: How can you win curling?
Ms. Eddy: My Mom’s team played the top 10 teams in Ontario who got a spot there.

Ashlyn: What did you do in Kenora?
Ms. Eddy: My Mom said that they went to some good food places and drove over an ice road. My Mom said that if anyone asked about that it is a frozen lake that they drove over.

Ashlyn: Was there anything special when you started the tournament?
Ms. Eddy: My Mom said they needed more practice and lots of luck to win curling

Through this interview I learned that curling is cool. It is played on a sheet of ice in a rink where you have to be a member of the curling club. What I would like to learn about curling are some of the strategies in the game. The next time I have the chance to chat with Ms. Eddy I will make sure I ask her. Mrs. Plant and Her Class Go Bowling

My class and I are about to go bowling. I love bowling so much, it is so exciting. We will have such a good time. I hope that I get a strike. We should at least get 1 strike each but if we don’t that’s ok. This should be a good opportunity not only is bowling fun but it is a good way to make friends. Tuesday January 31 the day before the trip I was excited and I know that everyone else is too. It’s the end of the day and I was thinking, will I be as good as I think? We will see!

At Echo bowl Me, Lilly and Noah. We were in lane 2. Karson, Allison and Ashlyn were in lane We all had a blast. Every one played very well and had fun. We all enjoyed ourselves and after we went to McDonalds and had a sweet treat. After we went back to school and did a bit of work and went home. Until next time I am STAR reporter. SENNA.
